Why home educate?

I thought since its August, and for many this is the time they choose to not send their young ones into school, or choose to not send them back for the new school year, that it was time to share some of the root reasons why we chose home education for our family.

In this third lunar quarter I thought for my more lifestyle blog post I'd share the ups and downs of home ed life and answer some common questions that get fired at us as home educators quite often.

Why we chose home ed.

Back in about December of 2008, over half way through my first pregnancy, we were reflecting on local school choices. Let's just say they weren't great.

To add to that my husband felt that his passion for art had not been encouraged at school and therefore had held him back from following that dream.

Myself, I'd not had the worst time at school, academically did well, but hated the pressure and hadn't really enjoyed the other young people all around me all the time (now I actually know this had something to do with my Human Design too).
